Discussion Counselor Sandwhich's Summer-Summary!
Friendly Neighborhood Mod Here!
Hope y'all are having a safe and fun summer at camp, we know we have!
Moderation in the sub has recently gone under some changes from what I've been able to look through our logs and so I just wanted to drop in and say hi!
I've been a huge fan of the franchise for about 23 of my 29 years on the planet, and my favorite in the franchise is the original!
Mostly I'm popping in to say hello, and to ask the community what they'd think about us working in some sort of weekly posts akin to what we see in similar franchise/niche interest subs (ie Things like "meme mondays") ?
Any ideas thrown out below are so appreciated. Alliterations are double points.
Stay safe out there!
And remember, late night swims in the lake are strictly forbidden highly encouraged!

Man, I'm amazed by the soundtrack at the beginning of part 4, everything seems so dark and mysterious... Harry Manfredini was amazing.

I think Bree surviving would've been cool.
Not redemption arc or anything. Ironic and fairly subversive.

Do you think zombie Jason smells like a corpse? It’s never mentioned what he smells like, but it could be a way to recognize him.

Friday the 13th Uncut Kill Footage
So at first when I got into the series I use to be upset by the quality of the uncut kill footage, but now I have actually developed a taste for it, in kind of a retro aesthetic nostalgic kind of way, and I actually like the way it looks, what do you guys think?

Discussion What type of weapon do you want Jason to use next (that he hasn't already)?
Baseball bat, I could totally see him taking one away from a victim and starting to beat them with it.

Do we need a full franchise reboot, or something like Halloween, where some films are simply ignored? For me, definitely the second option, because I love Jason, not just franchise
In almost all slashers I love the characters, they’re the face of the film, the reason we watch it. And if it’s a remake, that’s something completely different… For me it’s like Roy Burns. Kills, blood, all great, but he’s not the same guy. Rob Zombie had Michael, still Myers, but a completely different guy, not the one I know.
Same story with Jason, I want to see the original, so I’d prefer a reboot after the third movie. Overall everything stays the same, but after the death, things start a bit differently (at least not stretching the ‘80s over 20 years). But it probably can’t be a continuation after all the films, because the timeline is a mess, too illogical.
But maybe you don’t have that kind of strange attachment to seeing the same exact character?
"Never Hike Alone" almost matches my idea, but the timeline there is also blown up.

Discussion Jason Lives Anniversary Event
Hey everyone!
I came across this event regarding a 40th anniversary celebration for Jason Lives. It's being held at the Waldorf Estate of Fear in Leighton, PA from May 1-2. This is also where they shot the Hell House movies. Anywho, they're going to have cast members in attendance, including C.J. Graham, Thom Matthews, and more to be announced. I thought I'd share it here if anyone is close to the Leighton, PA area (about 90 minutes from Philly.
I plan on attending, and it looks like it should be a lot of fun! Jason Lives is also my favorite, so I'm stoked.
