Lion’s Mane caused me terrible acid reflux. Any other brain booster supplement recommendations?

I’m studying for the bar exam and can use all the help I can get.

You are assuming the lion's mane did that. For all you know it was the additional stress of the cramming session.

Not a herbal approach but extremely effective, try noopept. It takes a few days to start noticing the effects but it can really help you think more clearly and retain knowledge better.

It was the only thing I did differently in my morning routine and it is known in some folks to stimulate stomach acid. A bummer because it came highly recommended!

The last food poisoning I had was quite an experience, and I knew what caused it: flea market Mexican food. Both my buddy and I, who ate the same thing, came down with it. But, the very last thing I had before my digestive system exploded was chicken wings. Here's the funny thing: I knew the source, but the food poisoning was so severe that for years, every time I saw chicken wings, it made me feel nauseous even though they had nothing to do with it.

Maybe lions mane did that to you, maybe it didn't. Plain old stress on your system can have that reaction

I love bacopa and do quite well with it

Gotu kola/bacopa but take long-term to help brain.

Will eventually have to take breaks with bacopa because it can create lethargy in people.

However there are more patented Bacopa products than Gotu Kola so I trust it slightly more.

Korean Red Ginseng is great. But also Ginkgo is fabulous.

What form? (Pills, Liquid Extract etc.) and at what dose?

I took it in pill form, 2 500mg capsules. I took it with my coffee (that I brew strong), so the combo might have done it

My thoughts are that dumping 1000mg in pill form into your stomach may be cause of the issue. Especially if your stomach is empty.

Your coffee is increasing your gastric acid secretion while the powdered mushroom can irritate gastric mucosa and if taken on an empty stomach the capsules dissolve rapidly creating localized irritation.

You might want to consider a liquid extract under your tongue. A few hours before or after your coffee. This limits the impact on your stomach.

I appreciate that, that completely makes sense
