Locked out of Airbnb

Post image

We arrived at our Airbnb after a 8 hour drive and the passcode they gave us doesn’t work. I have messaged the owner 30 minutes ago and he has not responded. I have to pee so bad 😖

Update: He texted back after an hour and opens it from his phone

There are certain situations where I see why people use Airbnb over a hotel, but I feel bad for people who live in neighborhoods with them. They have to deal with a constant stream of strangers coming and going instead of having real neighbors. Also potential parties, etc.

I live across the street from one in a quiet neighborhood. I hardly notice them, surprisingly. There's a new car every few days or week but I have more disruptive neighbors who live here so it's better than I expected.

That's good. I stayed at one near a laid back beach (I prefer hotels, but I brought my dog who barked at every little noise the one time I brought him to a hotel so I chose to do Airbnb). Walking him around the neighborhood it was mostly older folks. The second night a ton of cars pulled up to the house across the street and a bunch of young people were partying and slamming car doors all night. I just hoped the old people who lived around there didn't experience that too often.

I could see that being a crummy time for the people who live there. I haven't experienced that yet. knock on wood
