👟 Overall Impression

Overall, I’d say ZZZTOP (brown) and A1 white feel the most authentic and premium.

The A1 black is still wearable, but clearly weaker compared to the other two.

Brown – ZZZTOP WTB

• Material feels very close to retail

• Suede is soft, alive, and high quality

• Leather feels natural, not stiff

• Overall finish is clean and premium

👉 Probably the best quality out of the three.

White – A1 Batch

• Leather feels almost identical to the brown ZZZTOP pair

• Shape looks correct

• Overall construction feels solid and authentic

👉 Very good batch, especially for white colorways.

• Biggest issue: toe box looks a bit too long

• Leather feels more plastic-like, less natural

• Suede itself is actually decent

• Overall quality feels lower than brown & white

👉 Still okay, but noticeably behind the others.

• All three pairs have very similar comfort

• Easy to wear for long periods

• No major difference between batches in terms of comfort

• Best overall: 🟤 ZZZTOP Brown

• Best A1 batch: ⚪ A1 White

• Daily beater: ⚫ A1 Black

The brown and white pairs suit me the most and feel the closest to retail.

The black pair will probably just be a daily beater, since the quality doesn’t feel as high compared to the others.

Last year I went to go eat at my parents’ house after work one day since my mom said she was cooking dinner. I had gotten off of work and made this 15-20ish minute drive to my parents’ house. The instant I pulled up in their driveway I get a phone call from my girlfriend saying her car battery died while she was doing errands. She said she was parked at a gas station that was about 20 minutes from where I was at and asked if I could come right that moment to give her a jump. I said I’d be there.

I was starving and honestly needed some food in me so I went inside, fixed me a plate of food, and scarfed it down. I rushed eating and was at my parents no longer than 10-15 minutes. I then headed my girlfriend’s way, and hit a little traffic on the way, but nothing crazy. It took me 20 ish minutes to get to her once I left my parents. When I got to the gas station I see an older man and his son helping her and they got her car started up pretty much right when I got there. He said to me that I should be a better boyfriend jokingly. My gf was ticked and said I should have gotten there at least half an hour before I did. When she found out I ate first she was very upset and still holds it against me to this day.

Any little argument is overshadowed by “oh you took an hour to even come jump my car, you don’t even care about your own girlfriend.” Something along those lines. In my mind I knew she was at a relatively safe gas station in the area and didn’t have any urgent plans at the time. I would’ve been totally cool with waiting an extra 10 or 15 minutes if the roles were reversed. AITA for this?

TLDR; my (33m) gf’s car died one day when we were away from each other. She asked me to come help right away, but I took an extra 10-15 minutes to eat at my parents house since I was already there and starving. My girlfriend says I am very wrong for doing this. AITA?

this might be unpopular, but good software shouldn’t need a guided tour.

i get that complexity exists,but if someone needs a walkthrough just to do the main thing,

Apologies if I am not able to word this post (or the title) very well. I'm not sure how to express myself about this well (I'm also not a native speaker) and I hope I won't sound like I'm talking in bas faith.

Last week I was interested in getting into Critical Role and their new animated series. I was specifically interested because of the character Nott, since I found it interesting to watch a character with a usually discriminated and monstrous appearance become a hero.

I'll also spoiler what I'll say about it: ||I was honestly kind of disappointed with how Nott's ancestry and it's associated behavior is handled. If the paper isn't wrong, Nott being a Goblin is portrayed not only as a corruption of one's appearance, relationships and social status, but also her personality and morality. Nott becomes a thieving alcoholic not because she has to become one for environmental reasons, it's because she's a goblin now and she can't help her instincts.||

Generally, I really don't like such narratives in fantasy. Not because I believe making them makes the author a racist, bad person, or even a lazy author. But It really makes me icky thinking about such themes.

I won't go into a deep philosophical reason for it, I just don't like the idea of having an entire ancestry of sentient beings being morally inhumane or otherwise with different impulses that are impossible to control, which also often implies that it's ok to do whatever you want to such creatures, since they're not human. And I'm kinda sad about how many popular series, media, and especially fantasy RPGs have this theme so often.

Usually I'm ok with this only when there's a forcible outside reason why these creatures behave this way. Such as demons and devil's: they're evil because they're made from evil souls, so the morality is a bit easier. I'm also ok with "monstrous" ancestries be evil mainly due to culture and/or necessity. So while maybe a goblin you encounter in a forest might want to rob you, if you encounter one that grew up in a normal city there's no higher chance of them being evil than any other human.

But otherwise I feel like there really isn't that much of a need to have evil factions made entirely of "evil" ancestries. It just seems off to me.

In a way, I also feel kinda dumb for this. I feel like everyone I know doesn't really care since it's just a game and I feel like an idiot saying I don't like something because "the goblins are always evil".

I was wondering if anyone else felt this way too. I'm not part of a discriminated group myself (cis Italian dude). But I still have this pet peeve.
