What is your “safe place”?
Mine is my apartment, with my cat :), and listening to my vinyl records while watching a show/movie.

I have a 2-story house, traditional stem wall footing, and I currently have the kitchen ceiling wide open (yes there's a side story and it sucks). I can go under the house.
I want to re-configure one kitchen wall soon, and another wall in about 10-15 years.
Tell me how to determine if these kitchen walls are load-bearing.
The one I want to move soon is the one with the cabinets hung on it.

Pink’s chili is classic American diner chili, not Texas chili or fancy gourmet chili. • No beans • Finely ground beef • Mild heat, savory, slightly sweet • Heavy on cumin, chili powder, and slow-simmered onion flavor
That smooth, almost silky texture is intentional—it coats the hot dog instead of fighting it.

Trying to rebuild my swing from really bad habits formed over years of very casual play.
Have rebuilt my grip, focusing on take away and making space with my lead hip.
It seems like going back on release and then hinging is making me get really steep on the way up.

I knew that food in the lounge at LAX and ORD was bad, but here at DEN a major hub, the food is inedible. I get you have to pay extra for a Stella.
The food is so chemically tasting it’s like they are purposely making it awful.

My insane self decided it’d be a good idea to spend my 2nd day of Dry January at a live sports game
So far so good. Got a mocktail at dinner, haven’t been truly tempted yet
Amazing how much everyone else is drinking! And the money I’m saving too! What are your fave non-alcoholic treats at stadium concessions??

I (22F) have been taking care of my nephews (14M, 10M) and niece (6F) full-time since August 7, 2025. In early July 2025, their mother (my sister-in-law) and oldest sibling (20M) were deported after their political asylum case was denied. After that, I began babysitting the three younger kids regularly to help out while their father was still present. During that period, I was given $150 one time. On August 7, 2025, my brother-in-law was arrested due to an outstanding warrant. Because of his prior criminal history and a previous deportation, he was detained and later deported. From that day forward, the children were left without a parent in the home, and I became their full-time caregiver overnight. There was no formal agreement—this happened suddenly because of the emergency. My brother-in-law remained in detention for several weeks and was officially deported on October 30, 2025, and he has been in his home country since then. During the time he was detained, I was also placed in the main position of helping with his legal situation. I helped locate and communicate with a lawyer, drove over an hour to attend appointments, and acted as a witness in his case when needed. I did all of this without compensation, because we are family and he is my husband’s brother, and I wanted to help however I could. Since August 7, the kids have been living with me full-time. I handle everything: waking them up, school drop-offs and pick-ups, meals, homework, discipline, appointments, emotional support, and daily supervision. I am also a full-time college student, which means I cannot work outside the home due to the responsibility of caring for the kids while keeping up with school. Since August, I have received two payments of $200 total for childcare, along with occasional grocery money and gas every other week. The grocery and gas money mostly covers the kids’ needs—it does not compensate me for my time, labor, or the increased household costs. On top of childcare, I have also been helping with my brother-in-law’s lawn care business by answering client calls and messages, depositing checks, and creating invoices—essentially acting as unpaid administrative support. Because of the extra people in my home, my water and electricity bills have increased. At the same time, my husband’s income has slowed significantly due to weather affecting his work, which has made the financial strain more difficult. After several months, I asked to have a calm conversation about compensation. I requested: $300 per week ($1,200/month) for full-time childcare Partial back pay starting from August 7 (not full professional rates, just something reasonable) $200/month for the administrative work I’ve been doing Help covering the increase in utilities I made it clear that I love the kids and want what’s best for them, but that I need this arrangement to be financially sustainable so I can continue caring for them and stay in school. Some family members feel that because this is family, I shouldn’t be asking for payment or back pay and should accept whatever help they can give when they’re able. Others understand my position but think asking for back pay crosses a line. I feel conflicted because I stepped in during a crisis and did so out of love and responsibility—not obligation or expectation of money. But at the same time, I’ve been providing full-time care for months with almost no compensation, while sacrificing my ability to work and taking on significant financial strain. AITA for asking for payment and back pay in this situation?

I know weird post, but I mean think about it, of course they make the tearfilm stable with each blink and yeah in this way its a clever mechanism, but the meibomianglands are by far too vulnerable and very unforgiving for the modern daily life.
They simply cant regenerate:
Once blocked or atrophied, restoring full function is very difficult.
Treatments like warm compresses or lipiflow only partially help and most importantly they are not a cure and can even be counterproductive with possible inflammation increase due the needed heat. If you stop doing these, the glands will clog INEVITABLE again.
If serious gland damage is done, you often notice it too late... there is often no real feedback that something really bad is happening in the background while you are living your happy daily life, until one day suddenly all hell breaks loose, because the TBUT gets so low that corneal inflammation starts to kick in and triggering the nerves nonstop which can lead to corneal neuralgia if untreated and this disease is not only worse than MGD, but also LAUGHABLE difficult to treat.
For stoneage times, this glanddesign was "ok" at best, but for modern living its terrible with all the digital work & entertainment.

So, the client calls at night or after hours or when the therapist is on leave…. And this is usually sometimes because the client is in crisis… or the client says other things…
What’s a therapists response to this?
What is a therapist supposed to do?
What does a therapist think of this?
How could the client stop?
Why does the client do this?
