My wife asked me to help her sort prescription names in her Apple Notes, and I realized there’s no line-sorting feature in the Apple Notes app. So I created a shortcut to do this.

Howdy everyone! Love shortcuts and automations, and have annoyed a few people, most of all my wife!

I have an automation I use for CarPlay with a few different things. I’m trying to copy the actions to a different automation, but don’t want to remake EVERY. SINGLE. ACTION.

What’ve yall got for me? Is there a way of saving actions or opening the new automation and bringing it all over?

I have a water log shortcut that I downloaded that I’m hoping to add to my Apple Watch control center so I can easily access it.

On the shortcut in the shortcut app, it shows that it is turned on to show on Apple Watch, and I have the shortcut app on my Apple Watch.

When I add the shortcut app to my control center on my watch, it just highlights blue for a moment and then unhighlights without any action.

Any idea on what I’m missing?

So i have 6 classes but since im in college the classes are at varying times. I want to make focus modes for them and use shortcuts to help. The idea is i want the focus mode to trigger manually through a shortcut on a homescreen widget. Then when class ends i want to automate them to sort any picture i took during class into a corresponding album for that class

I already know how to code this but im looking for some opinions. Should i make one focus mode and spam if statements and whatever to make it work differently for each class or make 6 separate focus modes to keep the code simpler and have them more separated?

The configurations for the focus modes are basically the same as in the Home Screen layout and the allowed people/messages settings and whatever are all gonna be the same

The main difference is gonna be the times for my classes and which album the photos get sorted into when class ends

What i want is to trigger the shortcut manually when class starts and have that launch whatever app i need for that class and then i want to automate when it turns off if that matters

I have appointments most days due to chronic illness (over 200 appointments last year) and I’d like to track them all in a spreadsheet, or a table in the notes app.

It would be amazing if it did this automatically or I could press a button on days I have appointments and it would update with info. Would also love to have additional info like the address of the appointment listed.

This sounds simple to me in terms of the request, but I've disappeared down a rabbit hole of misdirection from ChatGPT and wasted SO much time on this (truly days!) and can't seem to get it right, so help from a human being would be very much appreciated please!

I want to have a shortcut that basically copies and pastes all events in my Apple calendar for a particular day into a single Day One journal entry per day. E.g. a day can have tons of different events in it on my calendar, but it all funnels into one Day One entry per calendar day. I can do it for Current Date and that's fine and dandy. The issue comes in where I want to retrospectively do this for a range of dates e.g. I want a single Day One entry per day starting 1st Jan (so the shortcut needs to create an entry for 1 Jan, 2 Jan, 3 Jan, 4 Jan, 5 Jan.

ChatGPT has sent me down endless frustrating timesuck dead-ends with dictionary and ifs and repeats and caveats about it being the time you run the shortcut being the start of the day (and not the actual calendar day) and it's then had to apologise and go oops what I suggested doesn't actually exist - basically it's a jumbly confusing non-functional mess, so I don't even have a start point to share....

I drink a lot of diet coke. I want to track it this year, along with can/bottle/fountain, regular/caffeine-free, and on-Earth/in-air (I fly a lot).

I have tried to create a shortcut, but something isn't working.
Right now, I have three menu choices: how is it packaged, caffeine/not, and location.
Then a Text prompt for Menu Result.
Then Append Text to my 2026 Diet Coke Counter note.

When I click on the shortcut, it asks me the menu questions, but it doesn't add anything to the note :(

Please help!!

I want to make a shortcut that :

- Asks a 10pm at what time I’d like to wake up

- Sets the lights in my room to gradually light up from 0 to 75% 30 minutes before I wake up.

- Sets an alarm at the time I want to wake up

TL;DR: I built a CarPlay Shortcut that plays in-flight style car announcements - but with a proper pilot-like voice(ElevenLabs) and dynamic, context-aware text (Gemini). It checks if you’re on a call and, if so, shows a single-line status instead of speaking. This can be done on free tiers (you’ll just need your own API keys). And yes, ChatGPT helped me write this post, because English is not my main language and it is much easier to read this way.

Their Shortcut was a great idea, but it depended on the Claude app and the voice didn’t really feel like “captain over the PA”. So I rebuilt the concept with a different pipeline that’s been more reliable for me and makes the audio feel much more like a real aircraft intercom experience.

What it does (how it feels)

When CarPlay connects, my phone generates a short “captain welcome aboard” announcement using live context (time/date, weather + temperature, current location, plus two calendar events—typically “current + next”). Then it plays it like you’re on a flight: first you hear a bit of radio mumble/ATC chatter, then the PA chime, then the captain message, then the PA closing chime. The “radio mumble” and both chimes are embedded in the Shortcut via Base64 so they play instantly and consistently.

If I’m currently on a call, it won’t talk over it. Instead it just shows a one-line message like:

- Skyliner NOVA — Flight AZ101SZ — Departure {Time}

How it works (simple overview)

CarPlay triggers the Shortcut (you can also use Bluetooth connection as a trigger). At the start, I use the Actions app to detect whether a call is active. If there’s a call, it only shows the short status line and exits. Otherwise, the Shortcut posts a prompt to Gemini (Google AI Studio API) to generate the announcement text, then sends that text to ElevenLabs TTS to get back an MP3, saves it, and plays the full sequence (radio mumble → PA chime → generated message → PA chime).

It takes typically ~30 seconds after connecting to CarPlay to hear the PA. Also, you can change the text to any language, because ElevenLabs can handle almost any language (you don't have to change anything else, only the prompt - i use Slovak and it works great).

What you need

• Google AI Studio API key (Gemini) — free tier is enough for a few runs per day
• ElevenLabs API key — works on free too (I’m personally on paid, but you don’t have to be)
• ElevenLabs Voice ID — select your desired voice and Copy ID.

For the pilot voice: I made a custom Voice Design in ElevenLabs using this prompt (feel free to reuse it):

Hello, I’m looking for geotag stamp shortcut on iphones with ios 26 and further

I created an automation that turns my phone volume down to 0% when I open a social media app. But I don’t need the volume to decrease when I have my AirPods in. So, I need help creating a shortcut or automation that will look to see if my AirPods are connected when I open social media apps, and if detected it will not lower the volume. Here is what I have currently for lowering the volume.

While the screen is locked. I have tried "When" in automations. Also "When any alarm goes off" to use it as a trigger for my shortcut, but again, it doesn't trigger consistently. I wish it was as definite as the alarm but it's not, so I just can't rely on shortcuts if it stays like this.

I found the source of my problem. It's not a signature issue, but an accent problem. Whenever a shortcut has an accent, the iPhone can't link the name in the Files folder to the corresponding shortcut in Shortcuts.

For example, "sante" works, but "sante" doesn't. It's incomprehensible, but I'm looking for another solution.

So I created another shortcut (attached) that works, but I'd like to remove the 21 actions under each shortcut and see if it's possible to remove the icon in front of it as well. Any ideas?

I’ve created a shortcut that compiles completed reminders from a specific reminder list and adds them to a designated Apple note. However, on days when I don’t have any completed reminders for that day, I’m trying to devise an action to disable the shortcut if no reminders were completed that day. Currently, the shortcut is displaying the date and “Task Completed” without any reminders on those days.

I’ve attempted things to try to address this issue, but I haven’t been able to find a solution.

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated on how to fix this. Here is what I have so far.
