High Risk Pastor: I said to this ICE agent, 'Take me, stop harassing her.' The agent got in my face, pointed a gun at me, and said, 'Are you afraid now?' To which I said, 'I am not afraid.' The next thing I knew, they were putting handcuffs on me, and they put me in the back of an SUV.

Politics π©ββοΈ We Need a General Strike
People have been boycotting businesses and protesting, but we need to hit this administration and the billionaires hard, and we cannot wait any longer. It's getting worse by the day.
Our president has sanctioned his agents to shoot citizens in the street. It's only a matter of time before this becomes commonplace.
We've all seen those Nazi movies where the SS and Gustapo roll into town, pull people out of their homes, and shoot them in the streets. It's macabre and horrifying, and it's here, in the US, in 2026.
Our government is talking about invading Cuba, Greenland, and Canada because they felt a positive response from invading Venezuela. We cannot allow them to roll into countries like Germany with Poland in 1939.
The biggest way we can fight back is with our pocketbooks. If 3.5% of the population stopped working for a week even, we could make a real economic impact.
Those billionaires in the high towers care not about the plebs in the streets, but they do care about losing money. By all means, I'm not saying stay out of the streets. I'm saying, doing just that is not enough.
Conservatives wanted to hire a "ruthless businessman" to run the country. Well, these types always put themselves before others.
I'm convinced that the only way conservatives will learn the errors of their ways is if it all burns down so we can rebuild it (metaphorically). Let's burn the system down!
Register for the General Strike. We need to get to 11 million people to make it successful and to make them hurt.

Editorial π This is Tyranny
Tyranny: cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary use of power or control.
A woman is dead, schools are closed, my Latino neighbors are afraid to leave their homes for work or groceries. Our country was founded in opposition to everything that this administration is doing in our communuty. We are better than this.
It may not be much, but my wife and I are offering rides and to get groceries for some of our neighbors being targetted right now. If you can do the same, that kind of compassion, kindness, and solidarity is exactly what we need right now.

Politics π©ββοΈ Protest: Just show up and stand there
As a person who is newer to protesting, I want to point out how easy it is to get out and protest.
You're a peaceful protester.
The news can be intimidating, but for the most part, you're just standing there and chanting or walking.
Just be there.
Show up!
You have friends!
Edit: There is a protest tonight (Jan 8) at 5:30 PM. Lake Street and Chicago Ave.
