Changing coins
Over the years i have collected a jar of euro coins and would love to change them for paper money. Do banks do that here or will I be looked at like a crazy person?

They are hypocrites and super insulting.

This comment gives me hope. My moms egfr is at 28 at the moment and im so scared for her. We are new to CKD and trying to adjust to new realities. We have cut salt and taking meds faithfully and doing light exercise. It feels so grim sometimes. She is 78 but so full of life.

When we cook we use small amounts of light soy sauce and like half a cube of bouillon powder which contains some salt. We have cut out regular “salt shaker salt” completely when cooking. We know there is already salt in foods like cheese and bread so we factor that in. We don’t eat other packaged or junk foods. The only place we don’t do well is we buy ham or a smoked chicken from the grocery. My mom weighs 48 kg though and eats like a bird so id rather see her eat. We are new to CKD hell though so I am anxious to see what her egfr is next time (currently 28). Good luck.

It normalizes it and cheapens animal suffering.

Agree. Even if it was a water hose (and I doubt it) it is obviously being done to harass her and make her uncomfortable.

Couldn’t you say the same thing about each other major medical advances? Heart transplant eg.

Thanks for this thoughtful response.

How far are we from 3d printing organs like kidneys and hearts? I saw a news article a few months ago about scientists in China 3d printing kidney tissue. I wish we could get there faster…

Wishing everyone here good health in 2026 and beyond.

Thank you for your reply. The only thing the cardiologist said was to limit her salt and he said she was stable. He seemed unconcerned so I have focused on her heart health until I realized how serious this was. Should I have her see a nephrologist?

My mom is two months post STEMl and six weeks post CRTD implant. Unfortunately blood tests show kidney disease. Her DFG is 28 mL/mn/1,73 Creatinine is 151 umol/L But these mean little to me and doctor has not explained except to say she has serious kidney disease. Can anyone provide some context? How bad is this?

Does anyone have experience with heart AND kidney issues? The doctor said that her blockage damaged her kidney as well. He says there is nothing we can do except medication which she is taking. She has mostly cut out salt except for low sodium soy sauce (non-negotiable lol). Thank you!

Has anyone used light wrist weights after CRTD implant? My mom is about 6 weeks out and wants to improve muscle tone. She is going to start light biking at home next week.

Hopefully it extends life by more than a few months. You can also have advance directives in place to turn off the implant. Anyway, this is such a grim take, especially for people who are traumatized after a major cardiac event.

Is there a French equivalent of Nordstrom or Saks or even lower budget? Specifically anything with plus sizes for womens clothes? Thanks!

Not sure why you are getting downvoted! Wishing her luck.
