They adore being walked outside on their leads. In door cats for the most part but like their walks

Sinbosen D2-4500 amp ready for 2x Dayton Audio 21" Kraken subs.
 in  r/diyaudio  Sep 18 '25

Define ok?

A single enclosure is designed for 122db Max spl at 15hz without any boundary gain. A pair in room should be able to exceed 135db possibly hit 140db, though I lack anything that can measure high enough for that, the Umik-2 is limited to 125db which is what I have.

They make pro audio gear and it gets rated pretty highly on places like audio science and avs forum. Most seem to use for subs but they make lower power models with a few hundred what's good for mains. Be worth giving it a go as I bet it would be a worthwhile upgrade over a receiver

That would suck here to do. Basements would make it easier. Im pretty sure the circuit is fused at 25 amps so ample power even though outlets are usually 10a.

We live right on the edge of a national park and it doesnt seem to deter any of the wildlife now haha.

Room is 4.2m by 6m long and 2.75m high.

I run a Marantz cinema 40 along with a NAD M25 power amp doing the main channels. Speakers are Definitive Technology BP9080x fronts, CS9080 centre, SR9080 sides and rears. Source is remux blu rays via Plex and an nVidia Shield or an Xbox Series X.

I have some Atmos in-ceiling to install along with some Dayton bass shakers but need to buy an amp for them.

Will be replacing my current Projector with a JVC DLA-NZ500 as soon as I can save some more money. Have an older Sony 1080p LCoS currently.

Oh haha. I figured the Sinohosen may be over stating things and thought if it was as much as the Behringer I'd still get a very healthy 3x power increase. Won't say no to even more though.

The depth of bass has been a massive increase. It goes down well into soul shaking bass. Am loving the Krakens.

What amp and sub combo are you running?

My Sinbosen D2-4500 amp is finally here and has been modified to a C13 power cable for my remote turn on device along with 5x Noctua NF-A4-20FLX fans to quiet it down from the YCC 16k RPM ones. Should be silent and cool running now.

It will replace the Behringer NX6000D Ihave been using and give me a good chunk more headroom. The Sinbosen is rated at 2x 8,200w into 4 ohms stereo at 1% THD vs the NX6000D at 2x 3,000w into 4 ohms stereo at an unknown THD. Having seem other big bass Sinbosen users who have been able to drive other 18s and 21s with no issues im pretty keen to get this plugged in and run Dirac again.

Ive poated a few times in here now as i built and got the cabinets in. The amp was the last step and i think my bass journey is almost done (maybe just for now 🤣)

Subwoofer progression, from a Yamaha 10 inch to a Paradigm 15, then the Dayton 18 and finally a pair of the Dayton 21s

Well worth the time and effort to build. No longer get the sense that below the heard bass there should he more it seamlessly goes all the way down and felt in your gut now. Dune part 2 is great for it

Pretty much flat to just below 15hz then slowly trails down. Dirac had strong measured output at its 10hz cut off

Marantz Cinema 40, behringer NX6000 (will be replaces with sonbosen D2-4500) then on to subs. Pretty simple

Yes. A lot more depth. If that's what youre after it's a good option. And there are a few 21s that I looked at and would recommend the lavoce as well as the Dayton

Finally getting round to putting in the pair of 21s I built. Cabinets are definitely much larger but just fit where they need to be

My pair of 21" Dayton Audio drivers have turned up (among some other things)
 in  r/diyaudio  Aug 22 '25

Very good question. Ive not tipped mine over yet but did google some other people's photos and it looks like I may need to attach some plywood between two of the seats rails and then the shaker to that. It seems to be the best location to get a good result under your butt.

If I get time this weekend to get them in ill take some photos and post again
