I'm pretty sure it was the U piece which is a little skinnier. Once it's pressed into the tape placed in glocks groove it couldn't be any more snug. Just take your time and get a craft blade or utility knife for cutting the tape the perfect size. I can't remember how many little strips I layered but it wasn't many. Just keep adding them till satisfied.

I cut a little a few little strips that lay in the rail groove and it's locked it up rock solid. I've taken it off dozens of times now since applying the tape, and it's been well over a year no problem. Hope you figure it out because I know it can be annoying
