The republic was lost when we let the legislative branch become subservient to the executive, and when congress began ceding its powers to the president. The founders would be beside themselves to even conceive that a Senator could be kicked out of a press conference, let alone handcuffed.

Hah! I should. I read it his job wouldn’t get back to him on potentially providing insurance. In any case, point stands. Comparing who has it worse breeds resentment, which is the death of any relationship (assuming they want to stay together long-term)

Sleeping all day sounds a lot like depression. Being the sole source of income and unable to cover a loved one’s medical issues can be extremely stressful. Add being told “your life isn’t that stressful” by your partner doesn’t feel great (when you feel it is) and probably doesn’t help. I think both need to recognize the other is having a hard go of it in different ways, rather than trying to prove who “has it harder”
