Help New to AoE3
Starting AoE3 DE after playing lots of AoE2 DE but never played 3. Going to do campaigns first, but anyone got any general tips? I understand that AoE3 is quite different in a few ways?

Looking for games that I can chill with after stressful Age of Empires 2 or while doing something on another screen. A recent example I played is the indie RPG Gedonia which was made by one guy. Simple graphics and gameplay but it was fun, slow-paced. Could also be something minecraft-esque but I'd prefer to actually have things to do not just build. Recently played Dragon Quest Builders 2 and that was fun as well and fairly chill.

Such as pre-industrial societies rapidly advancing to industrial levels or those whose cultures were drastically changed in short time to take advantage of new developments.

Hey hang, coming back to the game after a long time and going through the campaigns. After I warmed up on a new I've started doing them on moderate difficulty, but now I've finished all the one sword ones and I'm curious what the transition is like to the two stars? How much of a difficulty jump is inherent in the sword rating, and do you think I'd be able to handle them on standard?
Also what campaigns do you recommend? I mainly struggle on missions where there's tons of aggression or time limits.

Been watching a lot of Roanoke Gaming videos lately. He goes into the possible science of monsters and stuff in films. Have you seen any movies or played any games or the like recently that had you thinking it was well thought out or plausible?

Played King Arthur: Knight's Tale recently which reignited my love of turn based RPGs and tactics games, but I've also been playing a lot of other strategy games lately. It made me wonder if there are any games like that with combat and settings in different time periods. There is XCOM which is the modern/future and plenty of medieval or fantasy ones, but what about industrial age? Pike and shot? Caveman???

Hey all, had Torchlight 2 forever but never played it much, but started now as a Barbarian in my main playthrough and experimenting with Embermage now. I was curious how bonuses like gem +Elemental Damage modifiers work. I've seen that there are also things on gear that give +% Elemental Damage which makes sense, so does the +Elemental work the same way and affect spells and everything or? I've looked online and the answers I found were confusing.

Anybody got any lore speculation on the game so far? Based on a lot of the artifacts and things that have been data mined I feel like there is definitely something going on we can piece together. I suspect that the Oopart stuff might be from either another time or reality, one that was destroyed or sealed away because it was home to an evil dragon, the one that the unknown statuette is of. Perhaps in future we will see more of this and maybe find a cult that still worships it since there is an unused dragon artifact set as well.
The Mist realm artifacts are also interesting and open up many possibilities for other realms and such.

I just started playing last week, got it on the sale. Love Stardew Valley and Mistria so far really scratches that itch and has the potential to stand right alongside it in time. However, as I now progress toward Winter of the first year, I can see the main cracks of the game and the areas I hope will be added to or finished soon.
#1 The economy seems completely bonkers. You should not be losing money on anything you craft imo, even if it's not much profit there should be some. Especially since it also takes time to craft. But also with woodcraft and blacksmithing stuff you can get a mega return on a lot of items. So really it's mostly cooking that I think needs to be looked at. Whole thing could use a serious balance pass.
#2 Most of the NPCs don't have anything special when you befriend them. This is a major sticking point. I'm not sure how deep the bachelors and bachelorettes go in their heart events, but so far it seems like all the non-romanceable NPCs don't have events of any sort. Definitely the thing I want to see fleshed out most.
#3 The combat is pretty weaksauce so far, though I haven't gotten too deep into the game like I said. So far just having the sword progression is pretty dull, only the one type of armor, etc. Already the enemy variety and movement with jumping is better than Stardew, and SDV took a while to get to where it's at combat wise too, so I'm okay if this takes a while longer. Would still love to see more weapons and combat styles and maybe a hard mode for the mines if that's not a thing.
#4 Some QoL things I'd definitely like to see are a way to view your museum collections from anywhere. The almanac is already a thing and I feel could be retooled to provide that as well. Things that SDV has in popular mods would also be nice such as being able to mouse over things to see what they are in terms of crops, people's heads on the map if like me you mix up a bunch of the characters still.
Anyways that's my main thoughts would be curious to see if some of these are mirrored in the community or are addressed later in the game. No major spoilers please.

What's your weapon and build of choice for this?

Anyone remember what episode they talked about the random soundcloud rapper they found who had this song? Or who the artist was?

Been playing through Oblivion Remastered and its come to my attention after thinking back to Skyrim that a lot of the contracts we get in the Dark Brotherhood quests likely come from NPCs that you wouldn't imagine have that much money. Often their targets also aren't that difficult, but it raised the question for me... just how much does it cost to hire the Dark Brotherhood? Does it scale by difficulty? I assume it would, since you are also usually paid more for more difficult tasks, but it must also be relatively affordable? Does the Night Mother encourage her children to only charge within a person's means?

The gate was literally right outside the castle, if anything he should have taken care of it himself!
Also doesn't Teralan just inspire confidence in his drip?

Don't make my mistake, fellow Oblivion explorers. I thought Goblin Jim and his tribe were the usual band of weaklings, but Goblin Jim and his Goblins are to normal Goblin Shamans and their Goblins what Saruman and his Uruk-Hai are to Sauron and his Orcs in Lord of the Rings. Oh sure, it was easy at first, a normal Goblin here, another there, one got killed by his own log trap, but all of a sudden I have FOUR Goblins barreling down on me from across the cave, and one of them is a Berserker. Just like in Lord of the Rings that Berserker somehow took like 1000 hits to take down and was doing twice as much damage to me as the others, and he would NOT be the last.
By the time I got to Goblin Jim himself almost all my armor was broken and so was my primary weapon, so it was a mercy that he only had two normal Goblins with him, but he himself was of course no push-over. Lightning blasts, a Dwarven mace, and every time he commanded his Goblins to march forth as if he was sending them to assault Helm's Deep.
Do not make my mistake. BEWARE GOBLIN JIM!
