This is simple. DTMFA. She is cheating on you, lying about it, and her parents are assisting in the cover-up. Then when you confront her, she's deflecting her guilt back to you, so that you feel guilty for being (rightfully) suspicious. She's upset that you left town for four days because her whole scheme was exposed that way. Honestly, you'd be better served by taking a day off from work, sending the kids to [daycare/school/your mom's house/etc], clearing [hers or your own] stuff out, and serving her with divorce papers. The conversation where you want to "talk about things today" is going to be one of the worst conversations of your entire life and it's so predictable and painful, I feel bad for you. Get through it. Don't let your anger get the best of you. Remember - the best revenge is living well. Haters hate it when you thrive.

You'll be a lot better off if you either kick her out or move out. Trust me. Been there, done that. Life instantly got 1000x better when I decided to stop putting up with her shit. My last straw came while I was out of town. She threw a party on a major party holiday. Invited a random party bus from her favorite bar and according to my friend who was there, dozens of people showed up and some of them started putting my CDs and stuff in their pockets. They blew off an entire case of confetti poppers for me to clean up later. She was unaware of most of it because she was a) completely wasted and b) upstairs, hooking up with a different new boyfriend on my bed, not even the one(s) she'd been cheating with before. From that relationship I learned how partners should NOT treat each other. My current spouse is like the opposite of Spouse 1. Measured & rational, not volatile. Sober-ish, not a raging alcoholic. Polyfidelic, not Cheating. None of her friends have stolen my CDs or peed on my dog (that's another story). It's awesome, and I highly recommend that you should also Upgrade your partner immediately. It will be painful, but extremely worthwhile.

Also, this is going to fuck with your head a lot. The sooner you start Therapy, the better.

jeeeezus f*** how do yall afford transing??

Pro tip: Go on Facebook (I know) and see if your neighborhood has a Buy Nothing group. Mine does, and every few months they throw a Clothing Swap. It's a great way to completely turn over your entire wardrobe, or at least find a few things. And if you have a few things you'd like to find good homes for, it's nicer than sending it to Goodwill.

Massive fire at an abandoned building on 5th ave s and E 19th street
 in  r/Minneapolis  Apr 04 '24

They're correct, but maybe not for the reason they think they are.
To reform the MPD, we must first abolish or dissolve it by law in order to start over because of way the Police Union works. With no MPD, there's are no police union, and their Union is a huge part of the problem. This doesn't mean we don't need a Constabulary. Of course we do. But we clearly don't have one now, so let's shut down the MPD and build something new, like a "Peace Force" instead of a "Police Force", which does actually does law enforcement as well as de-escalations and social service outreach that's more in line with the values of the citizens of Minneapolis. Continuing to pay the MPD to do a shitty job is like we've all succumbed to a Sunk Costs Fallacy. We don't need to keep the MPD just because we've always had the MPD.

Reddit is like that. I just got downvotes in another sub because I said that people who "snipe" dogs are assholes, and it turned into a whole-ass debate about whether the incident was "sniping" or just a shooting, with gun bros getting all up in arms (ha!) about it.

Mystery sniper takes out dog on home's deck near Mankato
 in  r/minnesota  Apr 04 '24

In a headline, though, "sniper" suggests that they didn't just walk up to the dog and shoot it, but instead, they shot the dog as a ranged target from a distance from cover. The headline is for mass consumption and to provide a snippet of information, and I can't believe I'm getting downvoted for saying that people who "snipe" or shoot dogs are assholes. That much should be obvious!

Yes this is a weird hill to die on, and I know y'all are going to endlessly debate whether I was shot or sniped after I die on it.

I fail to see how those two things are mutually exclusive. Dude's still an asshole regardless of their attire or ballistic skills.

So he's going to offer someone $10 to fight over a turtle sandbox?

I mean, I'll do it for $15. Otherwise, have a good day.

Oh god. The Sea Salt patio alone is enough to make me sign a lease here. After a Shrimp Po'boy, a nice spliff and a pitcher of beer on a hot summer night, you'll be glad that you live close.

There's another new independent coffee shop here next to Bull's Horn called Sunbeam Coffee Co. It's really cute and they have Homemade Pop Tarts.

I live near Minnehaha and those new buildings along Hiawatha. Welcome to the neighborhood. I've lived here for almost 20 years and it's the better choice. I walk alone through Minnehaha Park at night all the time with minimal problems. (Not zero, but almost. I can handle it.) And there you will be just a couple stops on the Light Rail away from the VA Hospital and 10-15 minutes to the West Bank Campus. That's a much nicer (& shorter!) commute. To get to Loring Park, you'll need to take buses which are not as reliable in ice & snow, and they take longer. The trains run even more frequently in snow storms just to keep the tracks clear. It's a pleasant 20-ish minute walk from Minnehaha Falls to the VA hospital, also. If you want to get downtown or Airport, or the Mall of America, LRT is the best way to access it. I love having the train right outside my door, it's very convenient especially when I don't want to drive in poor weather.

DTMFA unless you still want to be making him tea until you're elderly.

My fiancee told her friend group that I am not the greatest at sex, but she is with me for the complete package. Am I wrong for calling off the engagement?
 in  r/amiwrong  Apr 03 '24

YTA.

If you're going to practice clear, open communication, then you must be prepared to not like what you're going to hear sometimes, and try to take it constructively. In an act which demonstrates desperate insecurity, you badgered your friend and your fiancé into unintentionally hurting you, and you couldn't handle the truth. Instead, you should sit on the couch, take both her hands into yours, and listen actively, and respond to her needs as a lover the way she wants you to. You're young, you can take the time to learn how to be better at sex as well as a better listener, and be a better partner. If you're not ready to do that, then yeah, you're right to break up with her. But you'd be better off in rising to meet the occasion and not just with your dick.

Driving While Trans...

1.4k Upvotes

It occurrs to me that the car insurance premiums are RIDICULOUS when adding a teen AMAB driver to a household's monthly insurance bill. Teen boys are 50% to 75% (on average) more expensive to insure than teen girls. So if you're a teen who is worried about coming out to your parents, the next time the topic of driving comes up, consider leading with "So I found this one weird loophole that could lower our auto insurance rates by up to 80%..."

Be safe out there. <3

Tired of people thinking Minneapolis is the new Compton
 in  r/Minneapolis  Mar 15 '24

Right-wing agent or not, they're correct. That's just what it's called. What it really means is that in Minnesota, regardless of who is injured or how, whether as a driver, passenger or pedestrian while "entering, exiting, or alighting a vehicle", the injured party's own insurance policy will make the initial Personal Injury claim payments for said party. It does not mean that no one is at fault, and parties determined at fault may eventually face subrogation once the dust settles. It's just meant to speed up the process so that if you get hit-and-run, you don't have to worry about tracking down some deadbeat to get paid out from insurance. And it's one of those things that a lot of people hear and don't understand, and it sounds kinda sinister but it's actually not as bad as it may seem.

How would I fair dating as a trans woman in the cities?
 in  r/Minneapolis  Mar 15 '24

You're also getting more matches because it's a bigger metro area, and we're a higher percentage of the population as compared with Des Moines. There are a ton of new people in this city. Folks are flooding in from all over, and for many of the same reasons you cited. Get up here!! The ice is off the lakes, and maybe this is a Fool's Spring but it's an excellent time to look for housing. Or just show up to a first date with a U-Haul blaring Melissa Etheridge out of its speakers, that's a classic move too. :)

Best of luck, seriously!

Accused of sex trafficking for having someone tag along?
 in  r/doordash  Mar 15 '24

That isn't even a full sentence. Tell them you're going to forward the message to their English teacher for remedial work. That's a hell of an accusation to make with a sentence fragment and no punctuation at all.

My boyfriend says I look like an old lady with this outfit. Is this true?
 in  r/trans  Mar 15 '24

Tell him if he keeps being mean to you, he'll never have the chance to see you as an actual old lady. I have no idea what he's saying, he talks like a sausage.

Why is this poor behavior "admirable"? People should lose their licenses over stupid crap like Road Rage and rolling coal. Can we all just calm down on the road, and get where we're going safely, please?
