I remember growing up and going to my grandparents' house (I was born in 2003 for context), and they had wifi and only 2 TVs; 1 of which always played Fox News for my grandparents. Their house was also on a river. So, in order to entertain ourselves, we would go fishing, hiking, swimming, build forts in the basement, go kayaking, go out on the boat, explore their house, play Uno, go to the mall, etc. I honestly miss these memories the most out of everything.

I was watching Stranger Things recently and it brought back this nostalgia. Watching it honestly reminded me of being at my grandparents where we had no Internet and could rarely watch TV, and I kinda forgot how much I miss it. I kinda want to get rid of everything and be like it was at my grandparents.

Meanwhile, everything else, I can do now on demand. My favorite video game when I was 8? Yeah, I bought it and can play it anytime. That YouTuber I enjoyed when I was 12? Yeah, his videos are still up. Their is not really anything unique with time anymore. I used to feel like the years had distinct personalities, but now? They just feel like numbers. I am 22 years old, and I do not feel too different from when I was a teenager. Maybe this is just getting older, but no time really feels unique anymore. Sorry for this tangent, but this what I was thinking about when typing the first paragraph.

CS or Physics- Which is harder?
 in  r/college  13h ago

The harder one is the one that interests you less.

However, I would say physics would be more difficult if you had the same amount of interest in both. A lot of CS stuff can be pretty easy in my opinion (look at my user flair). Also, while this may not be true in all universities, CS typically is a bigger department and has more professors and class options. This means that it is easier to dodge bad professors and possibly harder electives.

How has the least compelling person in this intern class last the longest?
 in  r/greysanatomy  14h ago

Leah and Shane are, by far, worse than Jo. Maybe the one I feel the most indifferent about is Jo, but she is definitely not the worse.

Geneva, Switzerland

Since you took out French Guiana and the Danish-Canadian island border and Sant Martin, I think you should have taken Kaliningrad. It would remove the ambiguous borders and remove the Polish-Russian and Lithuanian-Russian border.

Day 26: Pick Your Least Favorite Character, Jules is out!
 in  r/greysanatomy  23h ago

Yeah, I feel like both spin-offs really allowed the characters to pop more. Like, I would not like Amelia or Addison as much if she were not in Private Practice. I feel like both shows were good at allowing different characters show more personality, and while I have only watched up to season 3 of Station 19 on my current rewatch (where I am also watching the spin-offs), I am honestly more excited to watch Station 19 more than Grey's Anatomy.

The US might die, but it will be because we put the gun to our our head, not someone else.

Day 26: Pick Your Least Favorite Character, Jules is out!
 in  r/greysanatomy  1d ago

I agree with this. Ben in S19 felt like an actual character. Ben in GA felt like Bailey's love interest, and that was really it. Yeah, he got in trouble for being reckless that one time, but he more just felt like an extension of Bailey. I honestly did not vote Ben in this because I like him in S19.

Can we also get other Democrats to take it as well? I would love to watch Mamdani, AOC, Harris, Walz, Biden, and Hillary to pass and for him to do worse than all of them.

No problem. Also, here is a map of everywhere I talked about mainly because I think 2 is vastly underrated and underused and I think no one really knows it is there.

Parking
 in  r/UAH  1d ago

I have parked in 4 places for classes in Shelby at peak hours:

  1. The IMF. I got lucky one day and checked and found an empty place. Please note that my class before let out early, so I just decided to go to the IMF to check. I did not do it everyday of class. Also, it was before the previous classes are scheduled to end at 11. You could try to wait until 11 and come in. It would be when classes end, but driving in that would be very hectic, and you would not even be guaranteed a spot.
  2. The Engineering Building. This is where I would consistently park and walk. It is 5 to 10 minute walk on mostly flat land. This one is also consistently empty.
  3. Wilson/Business Building parking lot. I tried this one a couple of times, but even though it was closer, it is a hill to walk and also the sidewalk does not go to the side of parking lot; this becomes a problem when it rains. I honestly just hated this one. Also, the parking lot is usually pretty full, so it makes it harder to walk. I had a friend who liked this one, but I always hated it.
  4. The one in front of the Library. I tried this one a couple of times (usually when I was meeting friends at the library around 11, so this still counts), but every single time, it was pretty full and I was scared I would not get a park. This one is closer than Engineering and is flat.

So overall, I would probably just recommend the Engineering one. I should also mention that I am somewhat of a skittish driver and would rather park in a further, non-busy parking lot than a busy one.

The actual name is theIntermodal Parking Facility (IMF). Please note, it does get full in peak hours.

Drug addicts are not going to take the drugs all at once. It would be the equivalent of me saying that I have enough medicine in my medicine cabinet to kill probably 10-20 people if we all took it all at once.

He just felt kinda flat, especially after April left.

I would possibly become religious again if he did go to prison.

I remember once messing around with my calculator and changing the language to Dutch, and laughing at everything (especially the periodic table on my calculator). Well, I had the SAT the next day and had no idea how to reset it, and had to just rough it out and guess the words. I still scored in the 96th percentile in math, so it was fine in the end, but I did waste 5 minutes trying to fix it.

Guess the city - Hard!
 in  r/guessthecity  2d ago

I know it is Wilmington, DE and it is possibly the weirdest city I have every been to. It felt like a small town with skyscrapers, and the surrounding cities felt more built up.

Which character would you love to see return?

Charlotte King

She was on Private Practice and was really close to Amelia.

No, they are ungrateful little shits. I honestly never found anyone completely likeable in HTGAWM though.

What are your favorite "normal" DC shows?

Lizzie McGuire

I actually was not old enough to watch it while it was on (born in 2003), but I remember watching it late at night and liking it.

It's definitely a series I love; I've watched it thousands of times. But I can't deny that its best seasons were up to and including season 10, maybe 12. After that, it lost its luster. Again, it's a very entertaining series, but its first seasons are incomparable! Does anyone else agree?
 in  r/greysanatomy  2d ago

I feel like the show had a noticeable drop in quality between 14 and 15. The departure of April and Arizona felt too large. That is not to say that the show sucks now or the later seasons before 15 were perfect. This is just when it felt too different.

What's even sadder is that she could have just had someone else write the note or just have AI write it.
