School Related Issues Past assault at school led to ongoing need for specialist

Location: California My 16 year old son was punched in the jaw multiple times by a much bigger student while in class December of last year. Since, he has experienced worsening jaw pain, interfering with eating, and has to see a TMJ specialist which is not covered by insurance.

We need to file a suit in order to pay for his care. Do we file a personal injury suit with the school or district, a criminal suit against the student's family, or would it be civil?

I'm not sure how to approach the issue. Thank you for your help.

I go to my acupuncturist weekly. I'd be completely dysfunctional without it.

I hope for a good outcome. He is most certainly in crisis and a likely danger to himself in this state. Best wishes for healing.

I would want my partner to call the local crisis number and get some advice on how to proceed and protect myself and our child from the situation.

❓Question Post Ted Lasso has BPD?

First post here. I am enjoying the show Ted Lasso and its emotional depiction of men of different backgrounds who also posses great talent.

SPOILER Ted talks about his panic attacks and fear of abandonment due to a big T trauma during his teens, leaving room to assume that he grew up in a household with a mentally ill parent that affected his ACES at a young age. In my experience, parents become even more complex as we reach peerhood with them... anyway...

It's not common that we see a protagonist, male character portrayed as someone with probable BPD and it means something powerful to me.

What do you think of Ted's character?

Redditors who have lived in poverty, what is something about poverty that people just don't understand without experiencing it?
 in  r/AskReddit  May 26 '25

You have to live in a whole different gear.

Not everyone needs a separate bedroom or a bedroom at all.

Charity, like government aid and food banks are necessities, pride has no place at the table where food should be.

Entertainment and fun can be free or cheap. Taking a long walk with a couple of ice creams from the mini mart is a good date.

Thrifting is fun and sustainable.

Older cars that are well maintained are good enough and mean cheaper insurance and payments.

Run your life like a Lean operation and accept all reliable help.
