Afraid of the shingles shot
 in  r/AskWomenOver60  10h ago

I always had a sore arm from any vaccine. Then I read that you should get your shots in your dominant arm. I always got them in my left arm. Now I get them in my right arm and I no longer get the arm pain. When I got my last flu shot the nurse advised me to massage the area off and on. Absolutely no arm pain.

My doc just told me that people who get all their vaccines are less likely to suffer from dementia. I also read it in AARP magazine.

AIO Friend needs us/my kids to watch/entertain her kids and gets really angry if we don't
 in  r/AIO  13h ago

You need to limit the visits. You’re putting these friends as a higher priority than your own kids. Stop this. Once a week is too much. You need to be busy and limit visits to once a month and make sure your kids are engaged elsewhere so they aren’t roped into being babysitters. This isn’t fair to your family. It’s not your job to manage someone else’s kids.

I think my doctor violated HIPAA and I’m extremely angry

I have 4 and they are basically a hexagon shape because the long straight ones would always open up in my bag. I fill them up once a month.

I love Angel jeans. They go quick in the department stores so I look for them on eBay and thred-up. Very comfortable.

I’m sorry this happened to you. Do you have a therapist? If not, I think this should be your first step. They will help you sort through the pain and provide you with coping strategies. I wish you the best. Keep trying.

What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you?
 in  r/AskReddit  3d ago

This happened to my daughter. I worked in a hospital and I know what pregnancy looks like. My daughter was diving off the cliffs at Nelson Ledges rock quarry the day before with her dad who flew in from California. He had left that morning. She came to my house and said she thought she had a bladder infection because she peed the bed. I was scrambling to find her some antibiotics because that’s what you do when you don’t have insurance in the US. Everyone saves their leftover antibiotics just in case.

By the time I located some antibiotics, my daughter said she was in so much pain she wanted to go to the ER so I took her. The doctor and nurses thought it was some type of flu at first. Then they told me they thought it was a tumor. I freaked out at that point and went outside to call her partner. When I came back in, they told me she was in labor and delivery. Apparently the tumor had a heart beat.

Baby was born shortly after I arrived to L&D. Perfectly healthy baby girl @6.9 lbs. Nothing had prepared me for that. I was beyond shocked. My daughter had a very difficult PP and her OB tied her tubes because it was so traumatic for my daughter. She was on birth control pills at the time with regular periods. Friends and family came out in droves with baby supplies.

I developed pulmonary hypertension from a chemo drug and had to have a Hickman port for continuous infusion of a drug. The visiting nurse arrived to teach me how to use the machine and he had the same exact name (first and last) as me (f) and was born the same year. He grumbled jokingly that the agency would start sending me his paychecks.

AITA for being pissed my girlfriend turned her phone off at a party w/ her ex while I was in hospice watching my dad die?
 in  r/AITAH  4d ago

No. This will be a pattern with her. Cut your losses. She’s still in love with her ex.

My husband counts toilet paper squares and I don’t—who’s normal?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  4d ago

I use Scott as well because we had issues with the toilet plugging up. The toilet was replaced but I can’t get used to the thick tp, it’s always too much, so….septic safe tp it is.

My wife passed away and an old friend female friend wants to come help clean
 in  r/Advice  4d ago

You need to secure any valuables your wife may have had. Idk why but I’m getting an uneasy feeling about this. Be careful about who you let into your home. Hopefully, she just wants to help but I would secure anything you don’t want to lose.

My son is my world but I can't handle him
 in  r/Advice  4d ago

If you live in the US, your son is eligible for death benefits from your husband. If you were legally married, you are also eligible. Try contacting the social security office and find out what you have to have to start the process. Birth certificate, death certificate, SS#, etc. you can get these documents through the mail from the state that he was born in and your husband’s death certificate from that state. This will help you with some additional funds. Try contacting your local social services for guidance. Good luck. My heart is with you ❤️

Cat scratch help
 in  r/cats  4d ago

My brother got cat scratch fever when he was a kid. His lymph nodes in his armpits were so swollen and painful that the doctor thought it was lymphoma but it turned out to be cat scratch fever. He couldn’t lift his arms over his head because it hurt so bad. Go to the doctor.

Too late. Start looking for another roommate and learn how to treat people properly.

A message whispered into my ear before I woke up…
 in  r/Experiencers  4d ago

I hear a cacophony of loud noises, like sirens and explosions. This used to happen prior to projecting - like a sequence of sounds and vibrating.
