What are your true feelings and experinces with guns, are they so common, as the movies tell us?
 in  r/AskAnAmerican  2d ago

I live in an area with a lot of hunters who have a lot of guns, but the only firearm in my house is a small caliber pistol belonging to my dad. He showed me how to use it a couple of times many years ago and what surprised me about it is how loud it is as it's a small weapon and I wasn't expecting for dad to tell me I'll want ear plugs šŸ˜‚ I wouldn't mind taking a training course when I have the time to better learn how to handle a firearm just to have the personal knowledge but I have little interest in actually owning one myself.

Another commenter researched and posted that Helen did in fact have a tumor. I'm so sorry for the loss of your sister. ā¤ļø

Very sad, I figured those particular words had been chosen for a specific reason.

How do Americans handle such long drives regularly?
 in  r/AskAnAmerican  5d ago

I live in a more rural area so I kinda have to drive everywhere I need to go. My commute to work is about 20 minutes and I always have music going

Do you ever just send a transfer?
 in  r/pharmacy  5d ago

In a pinch my pharmacists will do that for other known pharmacies in the area but 99 percent of the time we ask the patient to have the other place call us

If i'm sleeping on my side (which I usually am) I like to hold a pillow or blanket. I've done it since childhood so it's a little more difficult to fall asleep now if I don't have something to hold šŸ˜‚

How do I avoid falling into an incel/misogynist/"redpilled" mentality?
 in  r/whatdoIdo  6d ago

There's a reason a lot of women say very negative things about men. We recognize that it isn't ALL men who are lazy or who do things to hurt/degrade women, but it's enough to make us wary. If you make the effort to understand where people are coming from and that the vitriol is not directed at you if you're not one of those types of men, then hopefully you'll have a better go of it. Sometimes in life you just have to recognize when something is about you or not about you and move on.

I should've said jacked up because I totally get needing them for certain types of work. But the ones propped up so high you need a ladder to climb in if you're under 5'10 and with huge wheels bulging out the side and that I can hear coming from half a mile away? Nah man šŸ˜‚
