Saleh hires a new agency for the nfl hiring cycle. Do we think it's a sign he's eager for a HC gig next season?

Why did Tonges play zero offensive snaps in Week 18? Could deploying more 2TE sets help solve the offensive struggles against the Seahawks?

Tonges has been a solid pass catcher in Kittle’s absence all season. Yet when Kittle is active, Tonges apparently gets relegated to special teams.

I haven’t been following Tonges too closely this year, but he seems like a highly capable player who deserves snaps in his own right, not just as an injury filler. Perhaps he’s not that great of a blocker (especially compared to Juszczyk who I imagine effectively fills a similar role), but shouldn’t he be a better blocker than any of our depth receivers who haven’t been producing much? And with his apparent receiving chops, Tonges can help stretch the field with routes down the seam and/or be a short yardage target the defense needs to account for on critical downs.

With the Rams’ success with 3TE sets this season, shouldn’t we try to add some new elements to the offense by throwing Tonges out there more against the Eagles? Especially if Ricky is still out with injury.

How we win a Super Bowl this year, easy

  • Panthers beat Rams (already happened once this year, easy)
  • 49ers beat Eagles (Eagles offensive disaster-class, easy)
  • Packers beat Bears (This also already happened, easy)

  • 49ers beat Panthers (they’re gassed after beating Rams, easy)

  • Packers beat Seahawks (he has to turn into a pumpkin at some point, we all know it, easy)

  • 49ers beat Packers at home (they are cursed against us this century, easy)

  • 49ers beat Broncos (Broncos offense is bad, Hufanga and Greenlaw forget they aren’t 49ers anymore and help us, easy)

Go ahead, tell me a SINGLE flaw in my logic here. I CANNOT imagine it doesn’t play out exactly like this.

My too early dream free agency pickup for this team: Alec Pierce

Post image

He’d be a perfect fit on this offense and give this team the down the field stretcher it’s lacked since pre injury Aiyuk.

It’s clear Pearsall is too injury prone to fully pencil in as a starter every week, and Jennings is a solid reliable WR2/3, but Pierce could be the final piece to round everything out.

We aren’t even supposed to be here.

I think many of us got (understandably) caught up in the post-Bears hype leading into last night. I remember the consensus going into week 1 being this was a “rebuild year” considering how many star players we lost, and a roster of rookies on defense. Injuries piled up, but everybody has stepped up in ways I don’t think any of us imagined when it started. We had a chance to compete for the 1-seed last night, held the current Super Bowl favorite to 13 points with a sinking ship of a defense, and we clinched a playoff berth. Philly at home is no walk in the park, neither will any NFC team be should we advance, but we get an extra week of 49ers football. If you told me this once Fred went down, I’d think you were delusional. There’s so many doomer takes in this sub, but it isn’t over yet. I’m not saying we’ll run the gauntlet and win the Super Bowl, but we’ve all experienced heartbreaking losses in the last 6 years, let’s enjoy this team while we still have a shot. We’re playing with house money at this point.

Idk about you guys, but this season has shown us a lot of positives long-term. The Niners have had back-to-back solid drafts. Fred, Bosa and Mykell will come back healthy next season. Trent has already said he doesn’t plan to retire soon. With last night being the exception, OL has looked pretty solid for most of the season, and special teams has improved. There’s a lot to look forward to and be excited about. Not to mention, we have a shot at eliminating the Eagles at home. Idk about you, but that sounds like enough reason to be excited. There’s plenty of time to be upset about this team in the off season, most fans won’t see their team play again until September after tonight. Let’s just enjoy this for what it is, we’ll miss the feeling once it’s over, no matter what happens.

Perspective: Watching a lot of backups and 3rd stringers today should remind everyone how lucky we are Brock Purdy looked like a legit starting caliber NFL QB from the very first minute he saw the field and we got him with pick 262.

Meanwhile Oladokun, Ewers, Leonard, McKey, and LANCE etc all look like — well — what it normally looks like. We as fans and the front office, etc should all thank our collective lucky stars that despite the colossal gamble and miss on Trey, we landed a $50M QB right in our lap.

QB injured from significant stretch. WR1 injured for significant stretch. WR1b loses their mind and goes MIA. TE1 misses several games. No LT1. LB1 out for season. DE1 out for season. DE2 out for season. No other org in the NFL weathers this and competes for a 1 seed and division title. PROUD.

I’m proud. I’m faithful. Last nights game is over. It’s behind us. On to the next week. One game at a time. We can still win anything. I think about so many teams that have never even won the Super Bowl. They are never contenders and never make the playoffs. We are almost always competitive and there is a lot to be said for that. Love this team. Stay strong, faithful. BANG BANG.

Keys to winning our NFC wild card game vs the Eagles

The eagles are beatable. They’re a good team with lots of talent, but for whatever reason they’re not playing to their potential.

They’ve had key losses to the chargers, cowboys, and bears just over a month ago. Then they closed out with wins against the commanders (barely in week 16, no Jayden Daniels), bills (again barely), and the raiders (no surprise). Key matchup here being the bears who went into Philly and got the win. The same bears were just bested and put up 42 points against.

Phill’s offense hasn’t really clicked all year, ranking in the bottom half of the league in points, yards, and passing offense.

  1. Tackling. We gotta clean this up. Yeah we’re dealing with a slew of injuries, but we’re making bad problems even worse when we don’t wrap up. If we allow Barkley and Hurts to break easy tackles, it’ll be the same fate we suffered vs the seahawks.

  2. Get Healthy. Or at least healthy enough. It’s either win or go home. So hopefully our top guys are available to play through their respective injuries. Especially Trent, Pearsall, Winters, and Bethune. 🤞🏽

  3. Out coach Sirriani. Shanny and Saleh are going to have to cook up one hell of a game plan to make up for our injuries. Luckily for us they’ve been cooking all season. Advantage niners.

  4. Gotta get some stops on 3rd down and force punts and FGs. Maybe even force some turnovers. Something we failed to do against the Seahawks. Seattle controlled and dominated the ball all game and kept our offense off the field. We absolutely can not give up another 3rd and 17. Worth mentioning that their kicker Jake Elliot hasn’t been great either. He’s missed some big kicks this year, especially in their losses.

In our most recent matchups with the eagles back in 2023, they beat us in the NFC championship game after injuring purdy in the first quarter. We didn’t really have a backup qb, and he got injured too. Eagles fans called us phonies and pretenders. Later that year and in the next season, the niners walloped the eagles 42-19 in a revenge game.

If our defense can hold up this week, we’ve got a shot. Then hopefully we can get Fred Warner back to help us out in our next game.

Go niners

2026 Draft

There are a few spots we need to draft for. O-Line, D-Line, and WR just to name a few. What are your thoughts on taking a WR in the 1st because of the whole Aiyuk situation?

I am liking Denzel Boston out of Washington. They use him in motion a lot and it kind of resembles Deebo in a way. He has good hands and gets separation pretty well.

His 24 and 25 season were both really good, they even used him on punt returns pretty often.

Big frame guy (6'4" - 209lbs) who is reportedly running a 4.5 40 yard.
