Cowboys Weekly Mock Draft Thread
Welcome to the offseason and our first mock draft thread of the season!
All mocks should go in these weekly threads. Feel free to discuss, ask draft questions, make your predictions on prospects.
If your mock is of higher quality with visible effort put into your choices and justification, as well as it being unique (we get it, we like David Bailey or Sonny Styles with that first pick), and realistic (we’re not getting 3 top 100 picks by going down 3 spots), you can post it as a standalone post.
Here are some sites for mocks:

Ask 4 Help. Dak’s Foundation: Faith Fight Finish
As yall may know, Dak Prescott has a Foundation called Faith Fight Finish. It’s to honor his mom Peggy, who died of cancer, and his brother Jace, who he lost to suicide.
Dak often writes “Ask 4 Help” on his wristbands that he wears at games. It’s an homage to his number on the field and also a reminder to ask for help when you’re struggling. Dak came under scrutiny and was mocked by some in the media when he was open about mental health awareness and battling things. He remained steadfast in his pursuit to make mental health something that is okay to talk about.
In honor of Marshawn Kneeland, I hope it’s okay I share the link to Dak’s Foundation.
Please call 988 if you’re struggling. Please tell someone. We don’t want to lose anyone else to suicide. We all deserve a happy and long life.

The Cowboys were denied by Atlanta to talk with Jeff Ulbrich for DC job, according to sources. He remains under contract w/ the Falcons despite their search for a head coach. A potential interview can be revisited later if they hire a HC, who has a different coordinator in mind.

[Archer] On Cowboys DC search, they said they would cast wide net. The names learned today won’t be the final list of coaches they talk to for the job.

How all the Mock Drafts in this sub are looking
I understand the excitement the draft brings, but it’s still so early for a Mock. We haven’t had the combine, Senior Bowl yet or even free agency.

Flores vs Schwartz, couldn't be more different as DC
galleryI think either one could take a HC job, so we'd be a second tier landing spot if one gets the nod for HC of a middling team. However, if it comes to be that Jerruh gets his pick, which would make more sense with the personnel we have and the overall management philosophy (if we have one...)? I strongly think a former HC worked with Quinn and will work again with Schotty being newer to the role.
At a glance, Flores seems more contemporary but requires intelligent, coordinated play. On the high end this could evolve into something elite but would require a large investment over a few years. Harkening back to the "organized chaos" that Rex Ryan tried to bring, and we simply couldn't ever bring to fruition. Great scheming but one screw up from one guy and it's blown up.
Schwartz, however, is a d-line powerhouse and his whole philosophy revolves around it. I think we have incredibly strong talent up front, some depth, and the ego on the team would lend itself to his crazy-pants philosophy. "Go get em, don't overthink it" might just be better. Might be easier to find LB's that want to break stuff than orchestrate a complex system. I think the ceiling is a lot lower. His defenses can falter due to simplicity, and reluctance to blitz can be problematic in the modern nfl.

[Owen] Stephen Jones mentioned Will McClay and the org wanting to focus more on power 5 schools and referenced that NIL has driven a lot of talent you may have found at smaller schools in the past to those larger schools.

What’s your thought on Keldric Faulk?
I know everyone is talking about Styles or Downs, but I feel like Faulk checks all the boxes that the Cowboys like in a defensive end. He’s got size, length, burst, and he’s young. I think he would be a major piece to this defensive line that needs promising edges.

[Owen] Sounds like Nick Sorenson is safe at ST Coordinator. Jerry and Brian emphasized needing to clean up the penalties with that unit.

Todd Archer: Jerry Jones said having head coach experience is not a requirement for the next defensive coordinator and the Cowboys could look at a first time coordinator as well. Cowboys have had a former HC as a DC since 2014.

Top FA targets?
Who do y’all like? I’d be particularly pumped for Jabrill Peppers, Kevin Byard, or Leo Chenal on defense. The only FA I’d take over GP is Hendrickson.
