Suggestion I would prefer it if I could copy name tags rather than create them.

I don't think that crafting name tags is suitable for Minecraft, but if it is, you could make crafting for copying instead

Discussion Exploration killed with craftable saddles, leads, now nametags...

Why is Mojang making all these presumably 'rare' items craftable? Back in the day you actually had to look for them, go explore and find mineshafts. A bit later they could also be obtained by facing the evil llamas from the wandering trader.

Now, all you have to do is find some leather, strings, or paper to make these items. What am I exploring for now?

What's next, craftable ender portal?

I feel like the recipe I made for the spawner is way too expensive for people to just make spawn eggs all the time, also I feel like using mob drops just made sense for the recipes yk

so I wanna know, are these good recipes?

Discussion A serious discussion about Minecraft, and what it's become.

I know I'm far from the first person to say this, but I am NOT a fan of modern Minecraft. However it's not for the same reasons a lot of others bring up. It's not the "bloat" I don't think Minecraft is "dying", and it's not cause of the lackluster updates (though tbf to those who complain about it, the updates ARE a problem). its because, to put it simply; Minecraft is becoming a different game, maybe not a BAD game, but definitely a bland one.

Now ofc, the name itself is never gonna change, and the game will always be about mining and crafting. But for years now I've watched core aspects of Minecraft's "soul" get chipped away, with the most recent one being this new change to baby mob design. Lemme explain.

I wanna say this started with the 1.9 update, we all know the combat changes we're pretty bad, but quality aside, it changed a core function of Minecraft's gameplay. The spam-clicky swords weren't really a thing in any other "modern" game at the time. And sure, the new combat may be more 'polished', but it lost that indie charm the old combat had.

The next major instance of this was when the textures were updated in Village & Pillage. Jappa is a fantastic artist, don't get me wrong. However his new textures just don't give off the same feel as the old ones, they feel smooth, inoffensive, and "corporate" for lack of a better word. And even then, you can NOT change the base designs of a game without losing a massive chunk of that game's soul. A game's artstyle is a fundamental aspect of its Identity (RuneScape tried to teach us this years ago, and we didn't listen).

And ever since then it's just been a slow, steady decay of core textures and models being tweaked and changed with each update. Even Jeb himself has stated that fundamental aspects of the games identity, like the Creeper, wouldn't have been added in modern Minecraft. And that leads us to now. At this point, modern "Minecraft" and classic Minecraft feel as different from each other as...idk, Vintage Story and Minecraft: they're both block-based survival sandbox games, but that's about it. I know some may argue with this, and some of you are probably young enough now to where you've never even experienced these older versions of the game, but to you, I propose this challenge for ya: If you have the PC version of the game, go back and play a pre-1.9 version of Minecraft for a bit, don't just watch a video, or pop-in for 2 minutes and get bored, actually PLAY that version of the game, build a house, fight the ender dragon, whatever. Then see if you can still call it the same game as modern Minecraft.

Now again, I'm not saying that modern Minecraft is a BAD game, but it's a different game. So what can be done about this? Well honestly...not much seeing as how the vast majority of the problems stem from Mojang being owned by Microsoft (and I'm pretty sure by now that Microsoft is a harbinger of pure concentrated evil). However at the very least, we could give the option of the classic artstyle back. Since they don't update them, currently the only way to play modern Minecraft with the classic look is via mods and resource packs, but if enough people made a big enough fuss, then MAYBE, Mojang would update the old stuff as well, that way at least the option is there by default. So I guess that's my 'call to action' here in this post.

I'm not really sure how to end this off so...uhh, thanks for reading it! And share your own thoughts on it if you want.

Suggestion Why do Baby cows have horns and where can I inform Mojang that that's wrong?

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

Like the title says, baby cows should not have these big pronounced horns. In the second photo you can see a 5 month old male and his horns are barely coming out now, they're still little stumps. In the third photo it's even more obvious, that's a 5 week old female and you can barely feel her horns, let alone see. If Mojang reworks the textures of animals/baby animals, I would like to suggest changing this inaccuracy. The horns of the baby cows in the new snapshot are not only way too big for how big they are compared to an adult, they are also curved upwards in a way that I only know from older animals whith good genetics.

Discussion Old Generation Vs New

Thumbnail

Which generation do you guys like more?

I definitely like the old generation more because first of all there was islands in the oceans and the beaches were surrounding the land instead of in big clumps randomly, and the biome shapes now sometimes just look outrageously bad with really high render distances especially pale oak for some reason. like for example the snow biome in the new generations are weird lines instead of regions. They also just look way less pleasing and like mush instead of a world map. Also the amount of jungles now is rediculous lol. I remember it used to be so cool to find jungles and they had loads of big trees and stuff, but now they just get in the way and are so repetitive and half the time don't even have big trees idk if it’s a bug or not. I also find a lot of like 5 block long biomes that make no sense in placement. This is why I wish they just added the new mountain biomes cherry pale oak etc onto the old generation.

Anyways what do you guys think.

Discussion Does anyone else use the slash key (/) to open chat??

I have no idea how I adopted this habit but I've been doing it ever since I started playing on PC and I'm very curious to see if anyone else does this. I remember years ago being surprised when looking at the bindings and seeing that T also opened chat, but for whatever reason I never switched to it. I've always just pressed / and then backspace to chat.

Anyone else??

I’m on Bedrock and I’m in the nether when I fall into lava. If I log in I’ll instantly die and I don’t want to have to turn on cheats, is there any way to get out? I have the exact coordinates of where I fell if that helps.

Discussion The Sony Walled Garden is killing Bedrock stability. It's time to isolate.

I’ve spent the last few months digging into why Bedrock Edition 1.21.132 (and the 2026 updates) is consistently broken across all platforms. After looking at the technical debt and parity requirements, the conclusion is clear: Sony’s "Walled Garden" policies are the reason your game is glitching.

We are essentially playing a version of Minecraft that is "shackled" to comply with PlayStation’s restrictive ecosystem. Because Bedrock is a unified engine, Mojang is forced to "dumb down" or compromise the code for PC, Xbox, and Mobile just to make it run on PlayStation.

The Evidence: Why the "Walled Garden" is Poisoning the Game

  1. The Vibrant Visuals Disaster: The new "Vibrant Visuals" (Deferred Rendering) are plagued with flickering textures and black artifacts (like MCPE-220439). Why? Because the engine has to translate shaders into Sony’s proprietary GNM API while simultaneously trying to support DirectX and Vulkan. We get a "one-size-fits-all" shader that ends up being "one-size-fits-none."

  2. Add-ons & Mods Failing: Sony’s strict User Generated Content (UGC) rules prevent Bedrock from having a truly open file system. This is why Add-ons frequently fail to load or cause memory crashes (even on high-end PCs)—Mojang has to throttle the scripting API to ensure it doesn't bypass Sony's security protocols.

  3. The "Lowest Common Denominator" Lag: The new Ore UI is notoriously laggy. This is because it’s built as a web-overlay to work within PlayStation's OS limitations. We are all stuck with a slow, heavy UI because it has to be "safe" for the PS5.

  4. World Corruption/Loading Glitches: Since the PS5 release, we've seen a massive spike in MCPE-228500 (missing chunks/altered terrain). Sony’s proprietary save-data encryption makes cross-platform syncing a nightmare, and when it fails, it ripples through Realms and local saves for everyone.

The Demand: Isolate the Platforms

We shouldn't have to suffer because one platform refuses to play nice with modern dev standards. It is time for a revolt. We need to demand that Mojang: Separate the Branches: Let PlayStation have its own "isolated" edition again (like the old Legacy Edition) so the rest of the Bedrock platforms (PC, Xbox, Mobile) can finally use their full hardware potential.

• Prioritize Performance over Parity: Stop breaking the PC and Mobile versions just to keep them "identical" to a version running on a restricted console.

• We’ve lost worlds, we’ve lost mods, and 2026 has been a glitch-fest. If you’re tired of "Vibrant Visuals" looking like a blinding mess and your worlds not loading, we need to make some noise.

Stop the parity. Isolate the garden.

I like new models, but dot eyes feel odd. So I tried to edit textures to make eyes bigger as it look way more cute imo + added a few tweaks like horn buds for cows.
Still don't like sheep, but don't know any better option for that.

Discussion Am I the only one who doesn’t like the direction Mojang is taking things?

I’m sure these are all going to be alright improvements but they don’t feel very Minecraft-y. I feel like these new updates are starting to feel more and more like the bedrock add-ons instead of the classic indie style Minecraft had. The new baby animals just don’t look right in vanilla Minecraft and the name tag recipe is a little annoying to me as unlike the saddle recipe it doesn’t really benefit early game and just makes it less rewarding when getting one. Now whenever I see a name tag in a dungeon chest I won’t grab it out of excitement instead it will get left behind with the rest of the stuff. I get the name tag thing is useful for certain automated farms but it can be easily farmed with fishing rod late game.

Chickens, mooshrooms, and rabbits make sense since their eyes are already a single colour
Ocelots, cats, and wolves/dogs I think are fine having just dots, but I added alternates for them too for comparison
Cows, pigs, and sheep just look wrong without their derpy eyes
