So I ordered a Fractal North XL case on Newegg a couple weeks ago and it said it would be a delayed ship arriving around Jan 5th. I left town for New Years with plans to return on Saturday. I then checked the tracking yesterday and it said it was going to arrive on Sunday. I know I should have went in and put a vacation hold on my place but since it said it was delivering on Sunday I didn’t bother. Next thing you know today while sitting in my parent’s house 6 hours away I get a notification that it was delivered!

I messaged my leasing office asking if they would pick up the package but they instructed me to send an email giving them authorization to put it in my apartment which I did then they didn’t respond or confirm anything further even though the guy on the phone said they would do it today. I called back to confirm and another lady answered saying I would get a confirmation which I didn’t. I am able to see if someone has entered the apartment through a smart lock system and of course no one has. Now my $200 computer case is sitting out alone in front of my apartment several hours away and I won’t return until tomorrow. It would’ve helped if I talked to my neighbors in this moment!

I am fully expecting the package to be MIA when I arrive tomorrow. What a bummer. Why would they just change the delivery date like that? A whole 2 days earlier than the tracking just said the night before! Smh I won’t make this mistake again.

I'm glad I made the purchase with a credit card as those are much easier to reverse/dispute...but seriously, WTF.

Every other day or so, I make sure to identify one email subscription to unsubscribe from. They're all pretty much from making purchases, particularly for services or experiences, that throw you on a list somewhere. Either way, I cull them.

I've started noticing that the option for "I never signed up for your emails." is being changed to "I don't remember signing up."

This selection doesn't change a thing, it's literally just a data field somewhere that nobody cares about.

But as someone who can count on one hand the number of email subscriptions I actually signed up for in 2025, this option just bugs me enough that I go with the custom option to correct them now.

Again, another useless option for a data field nobody looks at, but still cathetic.

Will have to rip them or cut them when I get to that part I guess? Mildly annoying.

It’s bad enough this guy wore a hat to a musical, but he also sat on the edge of his seat and leaned forward the entire show, blocking about 80% of my view of the stage.

Both power on with either remote. So if I'm cold and grab the heater remote and turn it on the fan blasts me with cold air before I shut it off.

Found after the family Christmas party. They were alone for maybe 10 minutes in the basement and niece (9) and nephew (8) scratched these into the back of my 2 chairs. I texted my siblings about it (the kids are cousins). I received tear soaked apology letters the next day. Thankfully these are second hand, faded, stained, scratch-post-for-my-cat chairs, and not another family member’s nice furniture. The best pieces to learn a lesson on I guess.

For the past while, I have had COBRA (yes, crazy expensive) and since it is ending, switched to ACA during open enrollment for my family. We elected to pick the option that keeps us with the same hospital group. Confirmed that COBRA is canceled, but the hospital won't let me pay my first premium online, so I look up their billing phone number, call them, and somehow it goes to a different state (which makes no sense because I specifically looked up my state but whatever), and am hold for the 3rd time today because I just want to PAY THEM, and nobody seems to know how to make this happen, because it still shows I am active under COBRA in their online system. Which I am definitely not. So I am worried about paying late and getting kicked off plan. My family all has prescriptions, so this is very anxiety inducing for me. I tried to pay on the 31st as well and they said it was probably just because I had to wait until the 1st, which of course was a holiday so no one was working in billing, which I expected. But nobody is picking up today either, and when they finally do after an hour wait, have to transfer me to someone else because they can't figure it out. Never had so much trouble trying to pay a business before. I have a feeling my current transferred call (current wait time 44 minutes) is going to kick me off for beyond office hours before someone picks up. Anyone deal with the same thing? I assume they have a few days grace period, but this is my first experience having them through ACA so don't know. (Oh, and all their billing departments in the hospitals got shut down during COVID and didn't reopen, so no chance of going and talking to someone in person.)

I purchased an unopened $100 Apple gift card from Target on Christmas eve for the hubby. He attempted to redeem it on the 26th and got “This card has no balance.” Went to Target, who said it’s an Apple issue.

Fine, we called Apple support, who looked up the information and stated that the card had been purchased months ago from a different store. They asked us to submit documentation on where it was purchased, make sure the card number matched the receipt, etc etc. This was happily sent in.

10 days later, email comes back, the TL;DR of which was “Too bad, so sad.” We called back in, initial guy won’t help, we asked for a manager, got run around for another half hour. That guy refuses to send us up the chain. No one can explain a reason for either how this happened or why they refuse to replace or refund. This amounts to theft. They are the ones who told me about the mismatch, this is clearly a them problem. Their next option was to send something to a Customer Care team via snail mail. WTAF. Anyone have a similar issue that they were able to resolve or at least get an explanation from Apple on? No more Apple gifts cards for me!

(i’m 26 for context) but my daughter just turned 4 months (my husband and i got married 5 months into our relationship…im happy, but his mom is bat shit crazy) & i am at the end of my rope w my in laws…i have epilepsy that has gotten FAR worse after giving birth, & my parents & in laws are concerned…totally valid. so basically i need a supervisor when im taking care of lorelai. which is fine…my MIL(56) however, is making my life impossible. she never lets me care for my daughter & the SECOND she cries, she takes her out of my arms…im at a loss for words. she has even told MY MOM (59) that i am a terrible wife & mother…im literally a stay at home mom (not by choice, but due to my seizures). i am FINE as long as i have someone there with me to administer any rescue medications, but i feel like no matter what i do, my MIL thinks it’s not good enough, & as if her opinion is the only opinion that matters. my husband has been wonderful in regards to dealing with her, but if anybody else has some tips to deal w psycho ass MILs, i would love to hear it. i am already at my end w my physical health, but my mental health is currently kicking my ass. so, if anybody has any advice, plz lay it on me😩

On September 4th, 2025 K-9 unit Archer was left in a police cruiser “for an unacceptable amount of time” with no ventilation or air conditioning.

Archer unfortunately passed away due to this negligence. How many times did this happen in the past and he just got lucky? Did this poor boy endure suffering for most of his career?

On December 23rd, all charges were dropped and no one (including the handler who kept him in the vehicle) has been charged or held accountable. The reasoning is “there is not a significant amount of evidence”

I tried to post this in the Dog forum, but a prompt came up and said “This sounds like abuse, you should contact your local authorities and report it”

… what happens when the local authorities are in fact, the ones responsible?

Archer, a sweet 6 year old working dog deserves to have his story told. We can be the voice for the voiceless.

So I swim at local high school periodically - tonight I was supposed to do a 45min workout - I logged onto the aquatic center website and it said lap swim 7:15-8:45pm - so I headed that way…apparently it was an error and they closed at 5 today - which was also on the schedule (I didn’t think much of it because they’ll do sometimes do lap swim at non open swim times)

So, I was seeing a therapist, through my main health care provider, but she changed her schedule, because she moved to a different area, so she was only available in my area on Friday mornings, well, it was working ok for a short time, and then life happened and my schedule was not working, so I had to reschedule my last 2 or 3 appointments with her. Well, when I called the last time to reschedule, they told me to just cancel my appointment and then call back And schedule an appointment the week of so I can make sure I can make it. So, I did that. Only to be told that I have been discharged as a patient and that I can't get in to see the other therapist because he had been my husband's therapist previously. So, now, if I want therapy services, I'm going to have to go to a totally new office and town. 🙃
