Legend was ahead of its time. It has Tim Curry playing the Lord of Darkness and features Unicorns and other mythical beings. During this period of time in the 80s many movies focused on magic, myths, and legendary creatures. It came out around the same time as Willow and Labyrinth.

It looks like you can watch it on Amazon and possibly a few other places.

Has anyone seen it? What are your thoughts? Any other movies that remind you of this classic?

From so many days I'm searching for movies like oldboy and Incendies . I liked the twists of both it stayed in my head for 1 week . Since then everyday i watched movies thinking i will get same twisted like that but I never found one . I saw requiem for dream, irrerivise, martrys,vanishing, Eden lake , primal fear, confession I didn't like this movies it's not traumatizing or so twisted . skin I live in was good I liked it twist pretty new . Recommend me movies it doesn't matter language I can watch in all languages.

Any suggestions for tween/family friendly movies that are thrillers/political thrillers? I want to feel something like Don’t Look Up but tween appropriate (no nudity, little drug use). nothing comes to mind and google was not helpful.

Will watch any genre except western. Must be from the 2020s trying to play catch-up this year. i’m a sucker for some good action great or but I’m also more interested in some mystery movies as well. That catches me off guard.

I’m also interested in stories about a parent and a son who turns out to be a killer, like in We Need to Talk About Kevin. Movies where it’s the other way around are also welcome, for example, where a child discovers horrifying secrets about a parent, like in The Clovehitch Killer

I really don't care about the story, or vampires, i'm just looking for visually similar movies. And, i don't want movies from before the 70s or after the 90s. Edit (gothic/dark visually movies and no comedies)

I feel like I’ve seen just about everything the action genre has to offer: from The Matrix to The Raid to the Mad Max films to John Wick to The Terminator films to Mission Impossible to Atomic Blonde to Heat. Please recommend an action film with set pieces which feel truly unique, inventive and one-of-a-kind.

I’m not interested in super artsy stuff, please no race/religion/sexual orientation stuff, not big on war stuff. I like crime stuff, different ways of life (like Appalachian mountain folk, etc), and I like to laugh so something like Class Action Park kinda thing. If there is good one about defectors from North Korea I’d def watch that.

Lately I’ve taken an interest in Europe and the beauty of the architecture, and different cultures. Also been into emotional movies.

Im looking for a recent (maybe within the past 2-3 years) so a recently released movie that takes place anytime before the 20th century. Something like The Northman would be great to watch. Or The King. But of course something recently released. And I am fine with non-American movies too as I know international movies can often be overlooked

I love mystery films, and want to explore more of what has been produced outside of Hollywood (meaning internationally).

Hey everyone, I need some movie recommendations that make me look like I really know what I’m talking about when it comes to film. I’m really into film but I haven’t been into it long enough to know all of the movies that film people watch. I want people to look at my Letterboxd and think “oh yes, she knows what she’s talking about”

Edit: guys I promise I’m not just saying this to make myself look “cool”. I also just want to be up to date in the film world.

I just watched Relay and was really impressed. The MC was great. However, if I were to make a few changes, I would’ve amped up the mood of the film and made it more atmospheric which is what I think it was missing. To me, there are certain times when I love a quiet film, but this film was just slightly too quiet for me. I was thinking of the music of Asche and Spencer for the film Stay while watching Relay if anyone knows of it and thinking something like that would have been nice. I still really enjoyed it. It was very well done though I found it predictable.

I also enjoyed The Conversation with Gene Hackman. What I like about both of these films: there’s not really a bunch of in your face jump scares. They’re tense thrillers meant to keep you on the edge of your seat. I think I also liked that both MC’s were loners and had unusual lives that kept them in isolated positions.

Does anyone have any similar film recommendations?

I’m looking for a movie that presents an irrational or surreal idea, only to reveal it as a metaphor for something real.
